10 years without coding makes me a “beginner”

Hi, everyone,
I found your site through a search, hoping to get some guidance on languages.
I had become somewhat proficient in HTML, CSS, and a bit of PHP.... until about 10 years ago. After losing that position, I fell off the coding.
I’m currently interested in app development (if that what it’s called) and was wondering what languages I should start with learning/relearning. I’m sure my focus could change as I develop any skills, but I need to start somewhere.

I may have just found my answer on another post, which is that it can’t be a definitive answer. Based on the target platform and other variables that I need to make some decisions on.
