Coding For Browser Dark Readers

Not sure if anyone has thought about this, but ask yourself how many online customers use dark readers like the google dark reader when browsing. Then how many of your websites are color positive to look well enough in dark reader to be functional. Do you even check? Is it something you never thought about? Well here is a perfect example of why its important.

Some websites look ok using dark mode browser extension, well good enough that customers can find their way around, but some websites are horrible and it could mean lost sales. Here is an example, on the side as a hobby i sell domains. Well today i tried looking at my storefont page that i use as a member in dark mode and it was totally black, looked like the site was abandonned, down, broken, no words on the page at all. So i wrote them to tell them about it. See images attached, think about your own website, does it pass or is it horrible as well.

Normal site

I removed my info because i am not here to sell anything... 🙂

And then in dark mode

Yes i could not believe it either that the storefront that this huge company that has very deep pockets and spent tons of money on a storefront for resellers was this bad in dark mode. I tells me that alot of programmers dont think about that shoppers eyes get tired too and they may change to dark mode ofter a long day. Do you miss out on a sale or not? I am hoping they fix the page colors so it shows up better.

Just wanted to share my thought...

Dave 🙂
