Date and time file for use with OPC server

Hi,

I am a PLC programmer which is trying to integrate both PLC and PC system together. Im wondering if any could help me out with creating a file which will store the date only not time maybe just a txt file?, and must either be in YYYYMMDD or YYYY-MM-DD format as it will be used for a file name. If possible the date will update itself at midnight every day without having to have any manual input.

Any help would be greatly received.
