I've been playing around with site layouts (I just do it for fun). I was wondering when designing for living, do the customers give their design ideas or do you rely on your own imagination? If using images as a backdrop, do you think about image size, or anything along those lines. With todays download speed does that factor in? I know when planning you will have to get an idea of what the site is trying say, sell, or inform. I'm sure the sites theme is around whatever is trying to be conveyed.
Here is a screen shot of the layout I'm playing with. It's a goth look (Not ever really been into goth just liked the challenge) I've several backdrops I downloaded and went with the forest. Anyhow would appreciate any input on what you think about when you design a layout. Thanks.
