is a lesser known but powerful seo plugin without the bloat of yoast
iThemes Security
https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/better-wp-security/
for general security and brute-force protection
WP-SPAMSHIELD
https://www.redsandmarketing.com/plugins/wp-spamshield-anti-spam/
a paid but very good antispam plugin better then automatics own akismit plugin
EWWW Image Optimizer
https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ this plugin is a great optimizer for images
