Mariadb: Need help querying multiple WHERE LIKE conditions

Hi folks,

I'm trying to query values that match certain conditions using Mariadb.
Currently, I have a WHERE statement with: WHERE value LIKE "value1" OR LIKE "value2"; however, after running, I get an error stating there's an error with my syntax (I may be confusing MySQL syntax, which is probably why).

What would be the correct way to use this statement WHERE value LIKE "value1" OR LIKE "value2" in Mariadb?

Any help would be much appreciated! :0

Solution
I see what I did wrong. I'm missing the column name in my second condition. The correct way of doing this is WHERE value LIKE "value1" OR value LIKE "value2"

Also, removed the `AND`s because I meant to use OR.

To query multiple conditions using the LIKE operator in MariaDB, you should list each condition separately within the WHERE clause. Here's how you can do it:

SQL:
WHERE value LIKE 'value1' OR value LIKE 'value2';

This will retrieve rows where the value matches either 'value1' or 'value2'. Make sure to use single quotes for string literals in SQL queries.

Let me know if you need more help or clarification!

Thank you! Much appropriated.

To correctly use the WHERE clause in MariaDB with multiple conditions, you need to specify the column name for each condition. Your current syntax is incorrect because the LIKE operator needs to be associated with the column name. Here’s how you can structure your query:
Code:
SELECT * FROM your_table WHERE value LIKE 'value1' OR value LIKE 'value2';
This format ensures that both conditions are properly checked against the value column. If you need to match patterns, you can also use wildcards with LIKE, such as % for any sequence of characters.
