PHP Maybe 443 error with seemingly valid SSL?

Thus are my errors:
2024-04-30 23:01:41.875246 [NOTICE] [4051852] [T0] [172.56.29.242:4450:HTTP2-15#APVH_www.gugquettex.com:443] [STDERR] PHP Warning: include(): Failed opening 'https://gugquettex.com/stats/hits.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/php81/lib/php') in /home/gugquett/domains/gugquettex.com/public_html/index.php on line 12\n
I have https://gugquettex.com/index.php. I also have https://gugquettex.com somehow not showing that. Like my main problem is it is not calling https://gugquettex.com/stats/hits.php. It should call that and increment or make a hit counter file in that stats directory. That hit counter works when I visit it but not on any other gugquettex.com site. I have valid wildcard SSL. I did not get addon domains enabled and just made folders inside my public_html directory. Is there any way I can fix this or am I waiting on someone else?

I should note that this error is from my control panel. No error is ever shown to a client side thing. I have DirectAdmin hosting.
Code:
include 'https://gugquettex.com/stats/hits.php';
That is how I include it in PHP. I also tried ./ instead of before stats.

I think this might solve your issue:
Code:
include(__DIR__ . '../../../transporturi/a.php');

I am trying for like a general access because I want one way across all like my pages to access stats/hits.php. I think what I need to do is mod rewrite like have gugquettex.com/stats... and have it say in .htaccess rewrite that to actual path. Thanks for trying. I know it threw a different error with ./ but it still used https before it. I think I will try it with that address of file you mentioned and then path to hit counter. X E.

I got it to work with raw paths. I am trying to have like this I think.
PHP:
include 'gugquettex.com/stats/hits.php';
And rewrite that to be correct path in .htaccess.
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^stats/hits\.php$ /home/gugquett/domains/gugquettex.com/public_html/stats/hits.php [L]
It looks correct to me but why is it not working? I have .htaccess directly inside public_html. X E.
