JavaScript Starting my path in programming, where to beggin ?

Hello community,

I am starting to change my career paths. Should do this long time ago, but its better later than never. Currently applied to QA tester with jscript in coding school.
Not completely new in this, used to do some projects 10 years ago (gaming hosting mainly) where I set up game server, website and connect them through mysql database to get info about players/accounts/info etc. Slowly learning how to edit design, fix bugs and most common exploits used to brake into database.
Would like to ask, why QA is attached to javascript, node/react/css/html. This means my main function will be testing everything connected with web designs and etc?
It would be interesting to hear how people get started with QA. And how does it look in real life.
Also would help me to understand it faster and become more independant on long run ?

Kindly appreciate the answers.

Hey 4nother0ne,

Welcome to the community, and congrats on starting your new path! It’s awesome you’re diving into QA testing. I’m not an expert, but from what I understand, the reason QA is tied to JavaScript, Node, React, etc., is that a lot of modern websites and web apps use these technologies. So, your job would likely involve testing different parts of those applications, from how they look (CSS, HTML) to how they work behind the scenes (JavaScript, Node.js).

I’ve heard that a lot of people get started by learning manual testing—checking if everything functions as expected and reporting bugs. Then, once you’re comfortable with that, you can move into automated testing, which involves writing scripts (and that’s where JavaScript might come in more).

Again, I’m not too deep into QA myself, but that’s what I’ve picked up so far. Good luck, and I’d be interested to hear how it goes for you!
