To start, I am not a coder and barely know enough lingo to get in trouble.
I am actually a e-seller and was wanting to know if it is possible to "hide" UPC codes from the source data on a major e-commerce site.
The UPC codes are required to list, but other sellers that don't want to take the time to learn why it's not a good idea to openly compete, will simply scrape the UPC code and list with me. This always means tanking the listing.
Someone told me that they figured out a way to conceal the UPC from the source data, so that there is no opportunity for competition and by default, no tanking of the listing.
I don't know enough about coding to know if this is realistic or just him being bored and making stuff up.
Any insight would be appreciated.
