JavaScript Safari can't play videos with sound using IntersectionObserver

So, it does not have anything to do with the Intersection API, that is good to know. I can confirm this code works on Windows 11 with Chrome and Firefox, but not on iOS with Safari. Actually, the video does not play for me at all even without the timeout. I had to change 'click' to 'touchend' as...

JavaScript Safari can't play videos with sound using IntersectionObserver

Your description make me think that Safari perhaps does not (fully) support the Intersection Observer ? Not that I have any experience with either of these.

    JavaScript Free memory of HTMLVideoElement

Thanks for the update. One could indeed assume that when a new request for the video URL is done, it had been removed from memory. Although this might not be conclusive proof, and just be a matter of file caching.

Python variable cant be defined for some reason

What do you mean, you did not notice ? You were always getting the hint, so how did you manage not to ask yourself whether that if statement was correct or not ? It seems to me that you are just trying out things.

Python variable cant be defined for some reason

It's curious how you convert your input to lowercase and then consistently compare it to strings containing uppercase letters. Also I do not understand why you define picanimword only when the input was "Animals" (which never happens because of the lowercase thing).

The Purpose Of Span and ID Tags, and It's Uses

An ID is an unique name for an element by which you can address it in JavaScript, using document.getElementById(). If an element is not referenced in JavaScript, like s static piece of text, there is no need for an ID, but if it is, an ID is required (unless you want to write code to traverse...

C# SQL Connection string regex pattern to parse sections

Good. You can win many a battle just by keeping your code clean and tidy.

C# SQL Connection string regex pattern to parse sections

Your C# code looks not just incomplete but hopelessly muddled. I see these variables being used: values __values ___values __value _values Does this even compile ? Even if it does, code like this seems a sure way to get yourself in trouble. I am no good at regex either - often I'd rather...

    JavaScript Free memory of HTMLVideoElement

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought you wrote you had already checked that after setting src="" ? Anyway you can see the Javascript VM's memory footprint in the Memory tab of the debugger. Whether you see effect immediately after executing a specific statement is not at all sure though, as the...

    JavaScript Free memory of HTMLVideoElement

Ah yes of course. This would indeed remove the element from the DOM, but probably not from memory. It seems a strange design to me that this is the way to unload a video. I feel there should have been a method for that. But ok, as long as it works. My pleasure.

JavaScript Learning from a 5-6 year old JavaScript textbook

@Antero360 is right. For leaning purposes, a 5-6 year old book is perfectly fine. Core Javascript is already a lot older than that, and I don't really expect anything in JS to get obsolete in decades to come. Should you need some state-of-the-art functionality not covered in the book you can...

    JavaScript Free memory of HTMLVideoElement

Interesting question. In the MDN documentation of HTMLVideoElement I don't see that it has a remove() method. What am I missing ? Or is that a jQuery thingy ? And what thread is that you have been reading ? In this thread...

Trying to pass a styled phrase through "innerHTML"

Oh, those. They're not backslashes 😉 Not sure who is complaining about that, and why, but do ignore it. That code is 100% correct.

PHP PHP script for e-mail form

Your PHP produces this warning: Warning: Undefined variable $message in D:\web\kontaktform.php on line 27 Indeed, $message is not defined anywhere in this PHP file, and the contents or the 4 checkboxes is picked up but never used. So I am not surprised that it "does not send information from...

Trying to pass a styled phrase through "innerHTML"

Great that it works. For styling issues, @Johna is your man. Now I'm intrigued to know what exactly you mean with this : w3c still doesn't like the backslashes, but passes them. I don't even see any backslashes...
