    Android or iOS

To be fair - you can delete any unwanted apps in IOS/iPadOS directly without rooting. (Apps that are essential to the functioning of the device are just hidden)

    Android or iOS

I’m for IOS because I also have an iPad and. Mac. The integration between them makes it more like one big computer in 3 bits that I can carry or use however I wish. (Not to mention my Apple TV)

Java Java Exception Handling: Handling Checked Exceptions

use multiple catch blocks. A single try can have multiple catches, each for a different Exception, so for example you can catch FileNotFoundException and issue a suitable message, then catch EOFException and issue a different message, then catch IOException to mop up any remaining types. (Only...

Fun activity Say hello... in a coding language!

    I know that Java has been done, but this is new. As of jdk 21 the following is a complete compilable runnable Java program… void main() { System.out.println("Hello, World!"); }

Fun activity How many programming languages do you know?

These are the ones I’ve actually programmed in for a living: Assemblers (various) , fortran, cobol, rpg2, PL/1, APL, sql, composit77, basic, easel, JavaScript, smalltalk, Java

How do I maintain relations in struct while merge sorting int array?

You should sort the array of nameandnums using their values of buffer as the sort criterion. This keeps the matching values of buffer and phrase together. Ie sort the structs, not just one field in the struct.

Fun activity What was your biggest coding "Aha!" moment?

My biggest aha moment was learning Smalltalk in the early 1990’s and suddenly grokking what object oriented design really means

Python What is this feature called and what other languages have it?

Java used to have the ability to execute JavaScript code from within a Java program with 2-way sharing of variables. Sadly that was deprecated in Java 11 because the maintenance effort wasn’t justified by the amount of use it got. But now the JDK has a read/execute app called JShell that’s...

Can Anyone Help With Repairing The Bug In This Code?

A quick note re multiple Scanners: In general it’s a very bad idea to create multiple scanner instances. Scanner buffers its underlying input so when you stop using one Scanner and start using another you lose whatever was left in the first Scanner’s buffer. In this particular code you get away...

What should I learn next? Mention anything

Yes you can learn more computer stuff, but the more you learn the more it’s all the same. Why not learn a musical instrument? It doesn’t have to be expensive. You can get a perfectly good guitar or keyboard for around 100 Euros. It’ll be far more fun than sitting in front of a screen and you can...

JavaScript Please help me explain this

Obviously this is a teaching exercise in recursion, not a sensible way to do even/odd. But why do you think it doesn’t work?

    (BEGINNER) Dynamic Array Size Problem??

I get that malloc is the way to deal with variable size arrays, but in the original code where does the value 15 come from? Could it be like this… O.P. seems to hope that re-declaring the array in the loop will make it bigger. That’s not how it works. declaring the array inside the loop...
