How could i find more about Marcketplaces that integrates other marcketplaces?

[Chimer]

Hi, does anyone know what the exact term of a marketplace that integrates other marcketplaces is? For example, if I buy a room from Edreams (flight site) I do it by the service of "booking.com", but always remaining on the same edreams platform. Is there a specific name for these platforms that integrate other services?
Thank you very much

Hey there.

So all that works using API protocols. Essentially it communicates to different services to pull or send things like your name, profile picture etc when requested. For example, Code Forum currently has Twitter, Facebook and GitHub integration which uses an API to transfer things over such as your profile picture.

Here's a great website that goes into great detail about APIs, view it by clicking here.

Thank you very much. Last question: should I ask to a platform for the integration or is that free usually?

Great question! It depends on the platform, for instance, Twitter has an API/Developer platform that allows developers to build apps to integrate Twitter into their website or application. So does Shopify, Shopify allows you to use their API to make some pretty useful apps. But some platforms may not allow this, you can probably reach out to a site webmaster but API can be a very dangerous tool so they might not be too open to giving it out. It really depends on the platform but you can normally tell if they do if they have things like e.g. API or even Developer links on their website.
