  • Guest, before posting your code please take these rules into consideration:
    • It is required to use our BBCode feature to display your code. While within the editor click < / > or >_ and place your code within the BB Code prompt. This helps others with finding a solution by making it easier to read and easier to copy.
    • You can also use markdown to share your code. When using markdown your code will be automatically converted to BBCode. For help with markdown check out the markdown guide.
    • Don't share a wall of code. All we want is the problem area, the code related to your issue.

GIF shows where to locate </> in the thread and or post editor toolbar.
To learn more about how to use our BBCode feature, review our "How to post your code into threads" here.

    Thank you, Code Forum.

HTML & CSS Cross-browser compatibility and Older Browsers

Working on a website with an associate I have done fairly simple html edits for in the past, and working with a variety of legacy files which have been edited by someone else in the interim since I last web-mastered for the site, I am hitting a snag. We are both using older browsers currently. I did edits on his machine and we had a layout issue with the header shifting on some of the pages due to multiple tables (I guess, I am still looking closer into the code). My laptop had the same issue, and then while editing the html, I was prompted for a Safari Update which has corrected the shifting header on my laptop. Ok - cross-browser and older browser compatibility issue. The pages are fairly simple as far as features. I think if I capture the main body in a table or a div below the header (adding overflow to a sticky header perhaps) this should fix. Thoughts? This is a bit surprising for me and without test machines I am having difficulty nailing the solution. First post here, sorry it is an ask.

are you using any javascript/jquery to handle any potential stylings? If so, you may want to check the compatibility of the versions you are using. Also, you may want to check if any functions and/or css sass functionalities may have been deprecated.
