HTML & CSS Learning HTML....

How did you learn HTML? If you are currently learning it, what are you currently doing to help you learn it? What has worked best for you? Can you share, for those of us that are new to it or that are still learning....

Hi there,

I learned HTML via multiple sources. From Code Academy, Udemy (paid courses), w3schools, MDN, DevDocs, youtube etc. I'm currently refreshing on my skills, I'm taking a course on Udemy which went over HTML and other languages. I personally like the Udemy course however, I think Code Academy would be best for learning as a beginner.

I've heard good things about Code Academy and FreeCodeCamp.

I first started learning about HTML in an IT class in High School. From there I got an HTML for Dummies book and eventually started building various types of websites just for the practice. I was also spending a lot of times communities (just like this one) back when Proboards was popular circa 2009/2010 which helped.

Something I did early on (and still do) is pick a cool looking UI (video games often have amazing ones) and try to recreate it with HTML & CSS. You'll learn a ton that way. Don't get hung up on doing it "right" at first. Just focus on getting it to look right at first. Best practices will come later.
