Loading bar- where do I place it?

Personally I think it would be a Javascript function but then again I have not seen loading bars in a head element. Is it a header or head you are using this in? X E.

It doesn't have to be in a head element, ideally I would want it centred in the middle of the screen

I think you should start with HTML and CSS it hidden then JavaScript to show and use it. This could also be a back end or CMS thing where things are displayed while an HTML page loads. X E.
Add an ID to your loader element and use the JavaScript
