PHP adding a date field

just need a little help adding a date field. I don't create code yet (someday), but modifying seems to be a decent way to learn. This forum has been great for that. What I would like to add is a field call "date_repaired" in front of "description". I have not seen any true examples in my searching.

$description = '';
        if(count($AllrepairInfo)>0)
        {
            foreach($AllrepairInfo as $AllrepairInfoData)
            {
                $description .=$AllrepairInfoData->description.'<br>---------------------------<br>';
            }
        }

I would like to say I knew what I was doing, but I did solve my own question. Now I want to format the date to mm/dd/yy
answer:

$description .=$AllrepairInfoData->repair_date.' - '.$AllrepairInfoData->description.'<br>---------------------------<br>';
