JavaScript Audio reactive typography?

Hi I am a final year student of graphic design and my final year project is to have a program in which different audio changes the display of type, was wondering what the boundaries are or are there limits? I am in the midst of creating 4 variables of one typeface and then they will be put into the program, being the main principle of the program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
