JavaScript regex .test failing intermittently

I've read about the issues when using the global switch but I'm not using that switch.
when I enter a password such as ffg4bT59hY it fails saying that there the password needs at least one number.
Any help would be much appreciated!

            const hasLowerCase = /[a-z]/.test(pass);
            const hasNumber = /[0-9]/.test(pass);
            const hasSpecialChar = /[^A-Za-z0-9\s]/.test(pass);

            if (pass.length < minLength) {
                alert("Password must be at least 8 characters long.");
                return false;
            } else if (!hasUpperCase) {
                alert("Password must contain at least one uppercase letter.");
                return false;
            } else if (!hasLowerCase) {

                return false;
            } else if (!hasSpecialChar) {

I've solved this on my end. The above code works fine. I preconditioned 'pass' so the above code should have been using the conditioned value 'pwd' and not 'pass'. Doh!
