HTML & CSS solved

Hi everyone,

I am new here so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong section.
I'm having an issue with the borders of a HTML dropdown select.

This is how it looks like:
View attachment 729

Now when I click on the flag to change the language, it shows me this:
View attachment 730

How can I remove these white lines and circles around and next to the flags?
Is it also possible to alter the padding of the dropdown so it doesn't overlap the upper flag?
Is there a way to hide the first option in the dropdown? In this case English wich is disabled/selected

This is my code:
[CODE lang="html" title="HTML"]<select name="select" class="fixed">
<option value="" data-image="assets/images/fl/en.png" disabled selected>&nbsp;&nbsp;EN</option>
<option value="2" data-image="assets/images/fl/nl.png" >&nbsp;&nbsp;NL</option>
</select>[/CODE]

[CODE lang="css" title="CSS"]select {
display: block;
margin-top: 5px;
min-width: 10em;
padding: 0.5em 1em;
background: transparent;
border: #444 0px;
border-radius: 0em;
color: inherit;
font: inherit;
}
.fixed option {
background: transparent;
border: #444 0px;
border-radius: 0em;
}[/CODE]

I do have knowledge of HTML, but CSS is still quite complex to me.
Hoping that someone could help me on my way.
