Technical Support Thread

Hello,

This is an unofficial thread(it's not ran by staff) for asking any support-type questions on general issues. These may include:

• Compiler not working
• Error codes
• Hardware configuration problems
• Installing software/software updates
• Trouble understanding manuals

And the list goes on!

Just some tips/pointers:

• Don't be afraid to ask any question, even if it's on a really common problem that most people experience and is already widely answered - you may even get a better answer than the previous answer.
• If you feel the question needs an image to be better understood, please share that image.
• Be clear and concise in your question - the worst possible question is one that cannot be understood.
• If your question concerns itself around a script or snippet of code, please start a separate thread for it. This thread is for technical support on computer software/hardware, utilities, manuals, etc.
• If somebody helped you with your problem, thank them and let us know they helped you and the solution worked. If you solved the problem yourself, please let us know and tell us how you got the solution - the answer to a problem can save a computer!

When asking questions, please do not:

1. Use crude language against others - everybody is trying their best to help and violently shouting at somebody because they are "dumb" and cannot help you any further is not an excuse to be rude. Instead, thank the person for helping.
2. Share illegal material(pornography, scam/phishing links, pirated material, malware, etc.) - this is to help keep this thread running smoothly and to prevent CF from getting into legal troubles.
3. Spam the same question over and over again(or even just spam in general. We get it: you like spam. Shut up and eat it now).
4. Ask questions on infiltrating/breaking systems that do not belong to you, pirating, or developing malicious software.
5. Ask questions not related to computing.
