Hi I'm looking to build a website with a booking system (for campervans) for a small buisness I'm beginning, I have already created a website doing all the html CSS PHP from scratch that has images videos info price etc but just send a message to book.
I want to add a booking system with payment, calanders for the different campers etc maybe being able to hold a deposit.
Am I better to continue trying to code that from scratch by means of tutorials etc what are the advantages of this. Eg search engine optimization?
Or am I better to restart on something like WordPress, which I don't have experience in but would it be alot easier for something like this if it's hard for someone with basic knowledge to implement
Thanks

I think it all depends on what you feel more comfortable doing. If you're able to program your own booking software, and ensure it's overall security, then I say go for it. Personally, I would use WordPress as it has those features in it already, and programming inside of WordPress is a huge jumpstart compared to doing it from scratch. You also have the support of add-on's and their developers if you get stuck, as well as WordPress support (and us!), and it may even be easier to maintain overall. What made you code your website from scratch in the first place?
