Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help with a unique request…

https://www.myperfectcv.co.uk/build-cv/section/cntc?e=3310d28fb9e3_3
https://www.livecareer.co.uk/build-cv/section/cntc
https://builder.zety.com/resume/section/cntc

We are trying to put together a unique CV builder for our customers, this would include fields to fill in, much like the above links. I notice that these all have /section/cntc in their links. Is this a widget or builder of some sort? They are all very similiar and just wondering where this came from or if there is any way to find out how if embed a form, template selector and account set up onto our site?

I have tried to do this here with standard coding: https://godigitalspeed.cloudaccess.host/create-your-cv-8

Any help would be much apprieciated.

Many thanks,

Stewart

Hey There and welcome 😀

So after 30mins of checking, the 3 websites you sent 100% are using a while label service, they all have RWZV2 before there style sheets and there style sheets also say white label, looking into it a bit more i think they are all using https://www.rezi.ai/white-label-resume-builder its not bad pricing ether really 😀

if you did want to build something from scratch, we could help with that too 😀

Hi Stewart,

It looks like you’re trying to develop a custom CV builder similar to the ones you've linked. The /section/cntc part of the URL might refer to a specific section or module within a larger application framework used by these websites. These sites likely use custom-built or proprietary systems to handle their CV building features.

Here’s a step-by-step approach to building a similar system:

  1. Front-End Development:
    • Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create the form fields and layout. You can use frameworks like Bootstrap for responsive design.
    • Implement form validation using JavaScript or libraries like jQuery.
  2. Back-End Development:
    • Set up a server using a language and framework of your choice (e.g., Node.js with Express, Python with Flask/Django, or PHP with Laravel).
    • Create APIs to handle form submissions and save the data to a database.
  3. Database:
    • Use a database (SQL or NoSQL) to store user data and CV templates.
    • Design the database schema to handle different sections of a CV.
  4. Template Engine:
    • Implement a template engine (e.g., Handlebars.js, EJS for Node.js, or Jinja for Python) to dynamically generate CVs based on user input.
  5. PDF Generation:
    • Use libraries like jsPDF or Puppeteer (for Node.js) to convert the CV data into a downloadable PDF format.
    • Alternatively, you can use server-side solutions like ReportLab for Python or mPDF for PHP.
  6. User Authentication:
    • Implement user authentication and account management using OAuth or JWT for secure access.
    • Use libraries like Passport.js for Node.js or Django’s built-in authentication system.
  7. Deployment:
    • Deploy your application on a cloud platform like AWS, Heroku, or DigitalOcean.
    • Ensure you have proper security measures in place (e.g., HTTPS, secure storage of user data).
  8. Embedding the Form:
    • To embed the form on your website, create a simple HTML form that posts data to your back-end server.
    • Use AJAX for a seamless user experience.
Here's a very basic example of how to start with the front-end form:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
<title>CV Builder</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.5.2/css/bootstrap.min.css">
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
<h1>CV Builder</h1>
<form id="cv-form">
<div class="form-group">
<label for="fullName">Full Name</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="fullName" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="email">Email</label>
<input type="email" class="form-control" id="email" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="phone">Phone</label>
<input type="tel" class="form-control" id="phone" required>
</div>
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-primary">Submit</button>
</form>
</div>

<script>
document.getElementById('cv-form').addEventListener('submit', function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
const formData = {
fullName: document.getElementById('fullName').value,
email: document.getElementById('email').value,
phone: document.getElementById('phone').value
};
// Send formData to your back-end server using AJAX or Fetch API
console.log(formData);
});
</script>
</body>
</html>

This is a simple starting point. You will need to expand it to include all necessary fields and connect it to your back-end server for processing and storing the data.
