Hello

New Coder
HI,
My name is Paul, I am currently a info-sec student with a focus on cybersecurity. This is a change in carries for me, as I have spent the past 15 years working as a compliance investigator in the financial industry. I started back down this path in August of 2020. I have been self teaching myself Python, but have only recently started to write my own code instead of copying the excercises out of a book or off YouTube. I have coded in the past, with visual basic, but that was 20 years ago, and I don't remember any of it.

Hello Paul!

Welcome to Code Forum! You've come to the right place! 🙂

What sort of project are you working on currently? Also, feel free to help others as well!

Thanks. Currently I am working on a Choose your own adventure, that has taken on aspects of a text based RPG, because of course I had to over complicate everything, as an exercise in order to improve my coding skills. I have been playing with the python nmap library a little as well. The problem being there, that I don't have a complete grasp on nmap itself enough. So stop that until I do and am just working on purely understanding nmap on it's own and improving my knowledge of Python itself. Before I move on to SQL, Javascript, and HTML. There is just a never ending list of things to learn and everytime I learn one thing it seems like there is 20 new things I need to pickup. 🙂 but so is life.

You're welcome! Challenging yourself is a great way of learning, (I really need to take this advice). You may find things to be challenging as you go, may even get stuff but remember you got a full community here at Code Forum and google if you ever need help! 🙂
