    iPad OS

I added some information to your thread... Please make sure you are sharing your thoughts & linking to relevant information for your threads. I would appreciate it if in your next thread you can spend a bit more time writing :) I had not heard much about iPadOS, so thank you for bringing it up...

    O/S 2

Yeah, unfortunately there are still a ton of compromised devices out there. Another scary thought is how many printers & similar devices are connected to the web, but wildly insecure. There have been so many stories of people getting hacked because of old operating systems / software and other...

    O/S 2

Yeah the OS wars lasted a good while, cost a lot of money, and not everyone profited from it. A lot of money was sunk into numerous operating systems and platforms, with each company hoping to tap into the growing computer and server industry. Now it's pretty much just Windows or Linux for...

    How can we improve?

I would love to see more questions. I think we can try to increase the # of questions by asking things we may already know the answer to. This will then lead to good discussions and debates and bring in more visitors from Google, which will in turn bring in more questions and answers. Although...

    Yeah So, About This Fuchsia...

I think we'll see Fuchsia in a lot of products. Smart phones, refrigerators, "homes" (Alexa), televisions, and cars. A few articles mention that Google has said it's not meant to be a replacement for Android, it's intended to be an experimental (for now) operating system that helps Google learn...

    Yeah So, About This Fuchsia...

Yes, exactly. Your thread & Oscar's thread were merged into one.

    Yeah So, About This Fuchsia...

It might be a bigger pain to get Fuchsia support, but I think Google is equipped to get that done. They have a lot more money and resources to make deals with hardware providers instead of just begging them like Linux developers have to sometimes. Fuchsia is obviously still in progress, but I...

    Yeah So, About This Fuchsia...

I think Google is not just trying to replace Android, I believe they are trying to replace Linux. It sounds like they are going ahead with this project to target multiple device types... computers, smartphones, tablets, etc. Linux is a great foundation, but there are delays due to negotiations...

    Yeah So, About This Fuchsia...

I will let your thread stay because it's an interesting topic, but please avoid posting links to news articles or any other web page without adding some of your own commentary too. Users on CF should be able to know what the article is about and what you think about it before they click the link...

    O/S 2

Here is a great video about OS/2's (IBM) fight against Windows (Microsoft) to try to become a popular operating system!

    How to "test" Linux

I test out distros on old computers of mine. I guess it's not really "testing" if you fully remove Windows and install Linux, but for me my old computers are like digital playgrounds. I take them apart to upgrade some pieces, wipe &I install operating systems, etc.

Have you ever owned a Mac?

The first Mac I owned was an iBook G4 in middle school. They were required by the school, so every family did a rent-to-own plan with the school. In 6th grade we used school owned laptops to learn how to use them, how to take care of them, etc. In 7th we rented, and by 8th grade we owned them...

TempleOS, by the late Terry A. Davis

Great doc, I watched it a couple months ago when I was learning about him. There's a lot of info out there. He'll probably be mentioned online for a while

TempleOS, by the late Terry A. Davis

Terry A. Davis was an odd fellow. If not for his struggle with schizophrenia, then perhaps his comments about him being the best programmer to ever live were what made him peculiar. Of course, everyone aware of his work and videos knew that he had a tendency to be racist, and I'm sure that had...

    News App

Nice, that's good to have a consistent style & secrecy is part of the game :) I only publicize projects when I am ready to, and barely mention them unless I know I can show off Version 1(or whatever) soon. We're here to help if you need anything though :)

Hey man, obviously you are frustrated with Weboogle because yes, he has made many websites. And it's understandable that you are frustrated about this because they are all very similar. In this thread he's saying he released a local news station, but he released a free forum that is used for...
