JavaScript Are JS Auto Form Submits Still Used

Hi,

As part of my "new member email address verify process" for my project i am using a JS auto form submit process to automatically submit the form when they visit the "email verify link" they received in their new member welcome email.

like so,

       document.getElementById("FORM NAME").submit();
     </script>

Is this still a popular way to do this or is there a new front end trick being used instead?

If you are doing that on the way out, maybe onclick or something so it does not just start submit, if you are doing it anywhere but on the form page, bad, but other than that it is standard enough. There is onmousedown too. X E.

Thanks for the reply.

Here is how it works.

The user gets a link with a key in their welcome email to verify their email address. When they post that link to the browser, it goes to the page with the auto form submit, there is no user interaction, no click, no nothing. They dont even see anything on the page at all until the process is complete. That form sends the request a process file which verifies the email address and key and returns to the origional page with a success or fail message.
