HTML & CSS Do you include <meta charset="utf-8"> in your html doc?

i read that its not necessary as most browsers will recognize it automatically? im not sure.
i was wondering if you choose to include or not~

I don’t usually add it. But that could be because I’m not all too sure it’s importance probably.

I mean is required to add this? Because I’ve never added this and never got any problems.

I never left it out, when w3 writes this as a recommendation, I just follow it.
Besides it can't do any harm.

So I did a bit of research into this. Because most mordern browsers do this by default. You don’t need to add it in. However, it is good practice to do so.

The charset = utf-8 let’s you write in all different languages which may have different characters to our English language. Otherwise, you may witness things such as a box with a question mark in it etc.
