PHP Help with a Form outcome

[chrisj]

I have a Form to submit that works successfully

I'd like to add another function to this.

Currently this works successfully:

$wallet = $user->wallet;

//Wallet check
if (empty($error) && $_POST['set_p_v'] == 0 && $wallet <1){
    $error = "not enough money in Wallet: ".$wallet;
}

I'd like to add the ability to deduct 0.5 from the $wallet if there is enough money. I tried this without success:

$wallet = $user->wallet;

//Wallet check
if (empty($error) && $_POST['set_p_v'] == 0 && $wallet <1){
    $error = "not enough money in Wallet: ".$wallet;
}

}
else
}
if (empty($error) && $_POST['set_p_v'] == 0 && $wallet >=1){
$wallet = (float)$wallet -0.5;
}
$data = array ( 'wallet' => $wallet );
}

Any guidance/suggestions are appreciated...

I would print out each of the 3 variables tested in the if statement, and see if it's correct that you get into the if.
