If I understand this correctly, you have a model which well call Model

C#:
public class Model {
    public string ID;
    public string Subject;
}

and you want to store it as such public Model a;.

You want to pass ID from a as a parameter in a method.

You could do one of the following, would suggest first, in case the requirement changes to require subject.

C#:
public void DoSomething(Model model) {
    string id = model.ID; // Now you have just the ID

    // Do something with the ID
}

or

C#:
public void DoSomething(string id) { // this is a bit ambiguous though as to purpose
    // Do something with the ID
}
