HTML & CSS New to CSS

Hello everyone,
Hope everyone is doing good.

I'm new to all this and I have a question, I want to know if I can somehow add an image to a button through CSS, is something like that possible?
I want to draw a button with a unique and grunge style but I don't know how and don't know if it's actually possible.
I know that I can mess around with a button's size, effects and properties through CSS but I don't know more than that and i am actually being requested by someone to draw some icons and images for button's and stuff but that person doesn't really know much either so before I start working on this little project, I want to know if it's even possible and if it is then please kindly explain to me the way to attach the image for the buttons through CSS or even HTML.
