Python Strings to Lists

austin

New Coder
I working on a code which will take a string and return a list of all the characters in this string but without upper case characters, spaces or any other marks like ? or !.

strLetters("My name is Austin!") returns,
['a', 'e', 'i', 'm', 'n', 's', 't', 'u' , 'y']

(((def strLetters(myStr): can be used when coding.)))

I wrote a code for spliting the string. But while identifying the marks, spaces or upper case letters , I cannot make it work.

def split(str):
return [char for char in str]
str = 'austin'
print(split(str))

How can this be solved?

Python:
def strLetters(myStr):
    myList = []

    # For every item in the list.
    for index in range(0, len(myStr) - 1):
        # If the character is uppercase, pass.
        if myStr[index].isupper():
            pass
        # Else if the character is '?', '!', or ' ', pass.
        elif myStr[index] in " ?!":
            pass
        # Else add it to the list of characters that are allowed.
        else:
            myList.append(myStr[index])

    return myList

print(strLetters("My name is Austin!"))
