  • Guest, before posting your code please take these rules into consideration:
    • It is required to use our BBCode feature to display your code. While within the editor click < / > or >_ and place your code within the BB Code prompt. This helps others with finding a solution by making it easier to read and easier to copy.
    • You can also use markdown to share your code. When using markdown your code will be automatically converted to BBCode. For help with markdown check out the markdown guide.
    • Don't share a wall of code. All we want is the problem area, the code related to your issue.

GIF shows where to locate </> in the thread and or post editor toolbar.
To learn more about how to use our BBCode feature, review our "How to post your code into threads" here.

    Thank you, Code Forum.
It depends. Overall, I think Python is better and can do some C or C++ functions in fewer lines of code, but C++, for me anyway, is a bit easier to learn. Its all a matter of preference.

If you start with Python you'll have a more "top-down" approach to programming. And you'll really begin with one of the top languages in terms of abstractions.

Computer programming isn't that hard if you know how to abstract things. Even if you chose C, you can do pretty well if you not focus on many things.

The problem is: C has a very low abstraction. This means you have to worry about tiny little things (e.g. memory management, pointer arithmetic) that is not part of the problem you are probably trying to solve.

Python has a higher level of abstraction and more batteries included. That means you almost do not have to worry about things that are not part of the problem you are trying to solve. Python does not get on your way.

I'd advise you to learn Python for the sake of simplicity and speed of learning. As I said, Python does not get on your way. But I'd like advise you to follow the "top-down" approach and try C once you are confident with Python.

Good luck!
