CSS Bootstrap gradients

This has nothing to do with Bootstrap, Bootstrap is about adjusting to screen sizes.
You have to create gradients yourself.
I understand that the purpose of bootstrap is making websites responsive, but to style the websites with custom colors is more difficult. An easy way of using specific colors is by adjusting the hexadecimal code of the given defaults such as primary for blue, warning for yellow, danger for red, etc. Is there a way of using gradients with these colors or does the require digging in to the bowels of the bootstrap css or rooting through the numerous css classes and selectors?
