Dropdown check-list not rendering properly

I am trying to implement this dropdown checklist from codepen, but its not rendering properly like this



Instead, it displays as below



When I click on the icon, the icon flips, but the list does not render like this

Then after scrolling

the dropdown itself scrolls, you can see the bottom edge of the dropdown box. Any idea what is causing this? I haven't changed any of the code.

The problem is display flex. I removed the style from the containing div and the dropdown displays correctly. No idea why flex was affecting the dropdown, only it was.

@richarddunnebsc What browser were you using? I just added flex on containing div in that codepen and it still worked.
